# Agent Settlement Passport — machine-purchasable evidence for AI agents Purpose: agents can independently verify a Base mainnet USDC receipt as a machine-readable snapshot and derive an unsigned SHA-256 evidence commitment. Owner-controlled signing from a buyer wallet is required. No user API key or subscription. Always specify tx, to, min_usdc. Missing input may receive a quoted public sample; paying for a sample is not a real buyer receipt. Before paying, independently inspect the base asset, price and payTo in the PAYMENT-REQUIRED challenge; proceed ONLY within the wallet owner's delegated spend policy. Never paste private keys or send raw USDC to the seller to unlock a service. Corrected Node x402 v2 import: wrapFetchWithPayment() + x402Client + registerExactEvmScheme; read-only preflight tested with mock 402. Owner-gated paid execution was not funded or end-to-end tested. After a valid x402 purchase, agent receives: 2-of-3 Base RPC consensus, transaction and USDC Transfer event, expected-recipient matching, positive minimum transfer, block confirmation count, and passport.canonical_evidence plus passport.evidence_digest_sha256. passport.verdict=terms_observed_met means *only* that on-chain transfer terms were observed; not that the payee is legitimate or the transaction was authorized by its owner. The digest is an UNSIGNED SHA-256 snapshot over JSON.stringify(passport.canonical_evidence), not a third-party signature, zero-knowledge proof, trust score, ERC-8004 reputation, KYC, oracle attestation, fraud clearance, or wallet spend restriction. Snapshot confirmation count changes with new blocks, so digest may change when rechecked. Always verify against independently read Base receipts and chain ID when relying on it. One PayAPI Market operator-funded paid GET canary settled 0.10 USDC on Base and delivered HTTP 200 on 2026-10-13. This is independently funded technical validation, not recurring organic buyer demand. HTTP 402 and a free demo alone do not prove paid delivery.
