# Agent Settlement Passport — buyer integration (Base USDC, x402 v2)

Status: experimental beta. One independently funded PayAPI Market operator canary is verified for this $0.10 USDC API. It is not proof of ongoing organic demand, wallet safety, merchant identity, regulatory compliance or independent cryptographic state proof.

## Safe onboarding, **no payment by default**

3. Download the self-contained Node.js ESM buyer example: https://jzallxzbbdtelcpabfgr.supabase.co/functions/v1/agent-settlement-passport/buyer-quickstart.mjs. Node.js 20+ required; inspect the file before running it.
4. Use an **actual Base transaction and payee of your choice**, not the free example. Set environment variables `BASE_TX_HASH`, `BASE_EXPECTED_PAYEE`, and `BASE_MIN_USDC` (positive decimal). Optionally set `BASE_MIN_CONFIRMATIONS` (1..50, default 12). Run `node buyer-quickstart.mjs`.
5. The **default run makes a GET that must return HTTP 402**, decodes `PAYMENT-REQUIRED` and checks chain `eip155:8453`, native Base USDC token `0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913`, merchant `0x935ad91b70c6d0769871416c5904d06fbf9ef586`, amount `100000` (0.10 USDC) and exact resource URL. It does **not** sign or pay.
6. **Optional real payment** requires separate buyer/owner authorization, wallet funds and local secret storage. After reviewing quote and owner spend limits, install `npm install @x402/fetch @x402/evm viem`. Only then may an authorized operator set `RUN_APPROVED_PAYMENT=YES` and `BUYER_WALLET_PRIVATE_KEY` in a private execution environment. Do not share keys with us, ChatGPT, marketplaces, logs or the browser.
7. One authorized paid request may transfer 0.10 USDC for an API report. Confirm paid HTTP 200 and `PAYMENT-RESPONSE`; audit blockchain settlement independently. Never pay just to test a public demo. Avoid automatic retry loops and enforce caller-controlled budgets.

The resulting `passport.evidence_digest_sha256` is an **unsigned digest of the reported snapshot**, not a trusted oracle signature, KYC, antifraud verdict, ownership signature, merchant authorization or proof of finality.
